California Infrastructure Coalition

MISSION

The California Infrastructure Coalition's mission is to build support for dedicated and consistent sources of funding for infrastructure facilities and systems at levels sufficient to sustain them. CIC implements its mission through communications targeted to the public, policymakers, and the media.

California is at a critical juncture in determining the future viability of its physical infrastructure. Many of the facilities and systems are approaching or have far exceeded their useful life and design capacity. Lack of a cohesive process for identifying infrastructure investment needs in California, then investing accordingly, diminishes our quality of life and leads to an even larger price tag for making it right again.

California leaders and residents must act now to develop the policies and practices that result in well maintained, efficient, and safe infrastructure facilities and systems sufficient to meet the needs of a diverse, growing California.

HISTORY

In the five years since its incorporation, the California Infrastructure Coalition* has been the catalyst in developing and driving the infrastructure public policy debate and public voice for action.

The California Infrastructure Coalition was originally incorporated as the California Rebuild America Coalition (CalRAC). The name was changed in 2004 to more effectively communicate the Coalition's mission to build support for dedicated and consistent infrastructure funding through communications targeted to the public, policymakers and the media.

Today, the California Infrastructure Coalition is a key player in shaping the debate on infrastructure with a track record of solid results.
